The Workshop - build a whole app in 6 steps

Before you start

The Workshop is inside AppLab. It's designed for people who want to build software without coding. Start by typing the app you want, or paste a website you like.

   Open the Workshop

   Sidebar > AppLab > Workshop. Your draft auto-saves as you go, so you can come back later.

   Quick start (optional)

   If you want the fastest safe start, use the quick-start button. It creates a simple software app plan and takes you to the download step.

   Voice input

   Every text box has a mic button. Tap it and speak your idea out loud - we transcribe it live in your browser (no cost, nothing sent to servers).

Step 1 - Describe your app

   Type what you want

   Write one plain sentence, like "a marketing suite for small businesses". You do not need to explain who, why, or how it will make money yet.

   Or paste a website

   If you like another app or site, paste the link. The Site Reader copies the useful structure and style ideas, without copying the brand.

   Watch the smart suggestions

   As you type, we suggest helpful add-ons and starter pieces. You can accept them, remove them, or add your own later.

Step 2 - Check the first plan

   Review the plan

   FrankenApp guesses the safest starting shape for your app. This is only a first plan, not a lock-in.

   Change it if needed

   If the plan looks wrong, open the other starting shapes and pick the closest match.

Step 3 - Style (pick by eye)

   Instant look presets

   Nine one-click looks (Notion-clean, Stripe-serious, Duolingo-fun, Editorial luxe, etc.). Each shows a real mini-preview with your actual fonts and colours - no jargon.

   Fine-tune

   You can still override palette, font, and vibe individually below the presets. Live preview updates as you click.

Step 4 - Add-ons

Kits are Lego blocks: Members Area, Training Academy, Testimonials, QR Studio, Sales Page Builder, etc.

   Smart Bundles

   Top of the step has one-click combos (Members Area, Info-Product Launch, Creator Toolkit...). Applying a bundle ticks the right kits for your tier automatically.

   Tier caps

   Starter = 1 project / 5 kits. Pro = 3 projects / 15 kits. Unlimited = no cap. Kits over your cap show as locked with an upgrade prompt.

   Search + categories

   Filter by category chip (auth, content, ecom, marketing, community, AI) or type in the search box.

Step 5 - Connectors (BYOK)

   Bring your own keys

   Every third-party (Stripe, Resend, Slack, Twilio, OpenAI...) uses YOUR API keys, not ours. Hard rule - we never bill your users through our accounts.

   Where to get each key

   Every connector card has a "Where do I get this?" link that opens the provider's dashboard in a new tab.

   Do not paste keys here. We only record which connectors you want - you paste keys inside Lovable after upload.

Step 6 - Legal & Download

   Fill company details

   Company name, support email, jurisdiction. Required if you tick the legal pack (privacy policy, terms, refund).

   Build my app pack

   Click the big button. We generate one download with your app files, PRODUCT_MANUAL.md, selected add-ons, account setup notes, legal pages, and a builder instruction for Lovable.

3. 3

   Upload the app pack to Lovable

   New Lovable project > paste the builder instruction > drop the app pack into the chat. Lovable reads the guide and builds the app.
